I wanted to draw a flower that looked like it had some weight and heft to it. What I wound up drawing had large curvy sections and distinct darker sections. Even its leaves look substantial. Of course, there is nothing in the drawing to denote scale, but this was part of the challenge.
To me, at least, it does not look like your typical wispy, delicate flower. It seems to have muscles and brawn.
Why not? I am happy with it.
