Whenever I go to a library, I spend time in its children’s section. Last week, I went to the neighboring town of Woodbury, TN, not far from my house and submerged myself in its lovely children’s section for an afternoon.

I collect children’s books and love hunting for good ones. The ones I seek out have incredibly beautiful artwork along with a story that is distilled into its purest and richest form. A masterful children’s book is a work of art. Thumbing through shelves and stacks of them is like looking at art in a museum, except that I actually get to touch and feel what I am seeing.

I have visited the Woodbury library numerous times over the years, and their children’s collection has lots of gems. I have gotten a lot of comfort and inspiration from a few of the books they keep.

I take in the stories, colors, shapes, and vibes of these children’s books, and I walk away refreshed. Each of them entices the reader to see and enjoy the world more fully.
They give me an an instant smile, and in these trouble times we are experiencing, I will take all the smiles I can get.
